Was once supposed to be a deep and meaningful blog, now mainly a shrine to the perfection that is Doug Carter, his eyebrows and Bruglas. My other, more theatrey blog: http://the-usual-spiel.tumblr.com/
Realizing you’re getting old/older isn’t when you get your first job, or get married, or even a new found state of mind.
It’s when you look up a celebrities’ age, and have to ask yourself ‘Am I going to get upset by how young they are?’
Okay- so when the directors said ‘Mike suffers more in season 2 than 1’, I think we may have the catalyst episode next week.
Now obviously this is in reaction to something, but what?
I don’t think it’s Max dying- Ryan is in the background of the first screenshot, and his hand appears to be on Mike’s shoulder in the left of the second screenshot. From what we can see, Ryan does not look as distraught as Mike, which it’s safe to assume he would be, if his only family were to die
So that leaves us with 2 options:
1) Someone has dismembered/killed another dog :P
2) Or someone has killed/hurt Mike’s family.
Family has been at the forefront of this season: Lily and her *cough* interesting family, Ryan and Max, Joe/Mandy/Judy, even Agent Mendez and her ex. Notice anyone whose family hasn’t been mentioned yet…? Mike. In an interview about the season, Shawn said: ‘we get to know more about Mike’s history and family’. As far as I can remember, we haven’t heard anything this season about his family…yet.
My thinking? In the promo, Lily says: ‘You take from me, I take from you’. Hardy took her family (Giselle and the other guy), so she’ll take Max. But she thinks that Mike also took from her, by ‘killing’ Luke. So she takes his family from him- by killing them.
That is not the face of a man who has lost a friend, Max or Ryan. When Debra dies, Mike doesn’t cry.
That is the face of a man who has lost his family.
Things just aren’t working between us.
I’ve tried to make it work, to reconnect with you.
But I just get no response.
Please give me a signal if I’m wrong. Any signal.
*sigh* I guess you could say…
There’s just no connection any more.
